Tekamah Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association

We are 100% Volunteer 100% of the Time!

Tekamah Fire Association was organized one hundred fifteen years ago on November 5, 1891.  At that time, the main method of fire attack was to "surround and drown".  The protective clothing consisted of red rain coats, boots and hats.

In 1952, Tekamah Fire Association introduced a rescue squad and the Tekamah Fire and Rescue Association was developed.

Throughout the years, the Association has come a long way.  Techniques may have changed, but the common goal and dedication to save lives and property remains.  Each member is a dedicated volunteer that takes time away from their families and careers to serve the community.  None of the members would have it any other way.
